Gabe Below

As Vice President of Federal Affairs, Gabe develops and executes strategies for clients addressing their public policy, appropriations, and regulatory needs by engaging with Congress and federal agencies.

Gabe leverages his experience in policy analysis and science and technology to provide LNE Group’s international and U.S. clients with strategic counsel and to craft and implement innovative advocacy strategies that incorporate effective communication tactics to achieve client goals.

Gabe has worked with diverse clients ranging from large multinational corporations to small and mid-sized manufacturers and start-ups, local governments, and non-profit organizations, and ensured that their messages are communicated effectively to the right audiences impacting U.S. legislative, regulatory, and political initiatives.

Gabe has advanced client agendas through executive branch agencies and departments and congressional committees in areas related to manufacturing, trade, defense, health, and conservation, infrastructure, and financial services.

Client successes include Congressionally Directed Spending or “earmarks,” funding for defense projects, discretionary grants and incentives, and tariff product exclusions, among others.

Most recently, Gabe was responsible for securing two earmarks for a single local government in 2022, one in the FY2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act and one in the Water Resources Development Act of 2022 (WRDA), providing millions of dollars for two critical flood mitigation projects.

Prior to his decade at LNE Group, Gabe was a biologist in a commercial toxicology laboratory evaluating life science products in FDA trials.

Gabe earned his bachelor’s in biology, cum laude, from Ohio Wesleyan University and his Master of Public Administration from Cleveland State University, where he specialized in policy analysis, public finance, and management. There he earned the top award for academic achievement in the MPA program and for his potential for contribution to public affairs. Gabe has also completed graduate coursework in molecular biology and genetics at the Ohio State University.

Gabe is an aspiring ‘favorite uncle’ to two nieces and one nephew, an enthusiastic tennis player, avid traveler, and is active in local government and politics.
