Charlie Trefny

Charlie brings a wealth of experience in government relations and legislative strategy to his role as Director of State Government Affairs with LNE Group. Prior to joining the firm, Charlie represented the Ohio Cannabis Coalition, where he navigated complex regulatory landscapes and facilitated key industry advancements on behalf of the 30+ member company trade group.

Before transitioning to the private sector, Charlie honed his legislative expertise as Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate Majority Floor Leader and later as Senior Legislative Aide to the House Majority Whip in the Ohio General Assembly. These roles provided him with deep insights into the legislative process and stakeholder collaboration.

A proud alumnus of The Ohio State University, Charlie graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Business. His dedication to public policy, regulatory compliance, and fostering effective government partnerships continues to drive his impactful work.

Charlie resides in Columbus with his fiancée Lauren and dog Oakley. A Cleveland native, he is a proud Cleveland sports fan, and avid golfer.
