The challenge

An Ohio Valley township needed to replace its aging and dilapidated township hall, a nearly $1.2 million project beyond what the township's own budget could cover.

Our approach

We worked with the township to build a Congressionally Directed Spending request for USDA's Rural Community Facilities Program, secured sponsorship from both of the community's U.S. Senators and the local House member, and coordinated letters of support from local officials and community leaders to strengthen the case.

The outcome

The project was funded at $1.1 million. The award lets the township finally move forward on a facility replacement that had been on its wish list for years, delivering direct, tangible benefits to residents who rely on township services.
