Strategic Advisory
Research, market intelligence, and cross-disciplinary strategy for complex business, policy, and international challenges.
For challenges that do not fit neatly into one box.
Strategic Advisory is LNE Group's cross-cutting research and strategy practice. We take on complex assignments that span markets, jurisdictions, regulations, funding sources, and traditional practice areas, often before the path forward is clear.
Our role is to define the problem, develop the intelligence, identify the opportunity, and build the strategy. From there, we draw on the right expertise across LNE Group to help execute it.
From complexity to a clear path forward
- 01
Research the landscape
We conduct deep research into regulations, markets, public programs, industries, stakeholders, and emerging policy environments, combining primary and secondary research with perspectives from policymakers, industry participants, investors, institutions, and technical experts.
- 02
Build the strategy
Research is useful only if it informs a decision. We translate findings into practical strategies around market entry, regulatory pathways, public funding, investment, economic development, stakeholder engagement, and business growth.
- 03
Connect the pieces
Complex projects rarely belong to one practice. Strategic Advisory works across LNE Group to connect federal, state, local, international, funding, and business development considerations into a coordinated approach.
- 04
Move from strategy to execution
We build the playbook and help assemble the team to carry it forward, whether that means engaging policymakers, pursuing public funding, attracting investment, developing partnerships, or advancing a project through multiple levels of government.
The questions clients bring
Clients often come to us with an objective rather than a defined scope of work.
We dig into the question, determine what matters, and develop an actionable strategy around the findings.
- Can this project work?
- Where does government fit?
- What does a new federal program mean for us?
- How do we enter this market?
- What regulatory pathway is available?
- How do we turn an asset or idea into an investable project?
Emerging programs and complex policy
When a new law, federal program, regulation, or incentive creates an opportunity, we determine how it works, who benefits, and how clients can position themselves. Our work has included developing strategies around major federal economic development programs, connecting municipal priorities with state and federal policy, and helping communities position projects to attract private capital.
International and cross-border strategy
Our international work frequently sits within Strategic Advisory. We help U.S. and international companies navigate opportunities that cross borders, including European public funding, advanced manufacturing investment, market-entry strategy, regulatory pathways, and coordination among partners in different jurisdictions.
Innovation, healthcare, and regulated markets
Highly technical or regulated projects often require research before advocacy or funding work can begin. We help clients understand regulatory pathways, structure projects, coordinate technical and institutional partners, and translate complex subject matter into strategies that government, investors, and other stakeholders can act on.
Multi-jurisdictional strategy
Some challenges span city halls, state capitals, federal agencies, and Congress at the same time. We help clients understand how those decision-making environments connect and develop a coordinated strategy across them.
A brain trust for complex projects
Strategic Advisory frequently supports LNE Group's other practices when a client engagement requires deeper research, a new body of expertise, or a strategy that crosses traditional boundaries.
That may mean evaluating a new regulation for the Government Relations team, researching a market before a Business Development pursuit, assessing the viability of a funding opportunity, or developing the strategy for a complex community asset before public engagement begins.
The practice works closely with colleagues in Federal Affairs, State and Local Government Relations, Public Funding, Economic Development, Business Development, and Public Affairs.
