Lee Weingart
Bringing a lifetime of experience in government, law, business, and entrepreneurship to the firm's most complex challenges.
Lee Weingart has spent his career at the intersection of government, business, and public life: first as an elected official, then as a corporate executive and attorney, and ultimately as the founder of LNE Group.
Since founding the firm in 2002, Lee has helped build LNE Group around a simple idea: clients are best served when strong relationships, rigorous strategy, and people with different areas of expertise are brought together around the problem at hand. More than two decades later, that approach continues to shape the firm's work across government relations, public funding, economic development, strategic advisory, and business development.
As Founder and Chairman, Lee remains involved across the firm, advising clients and teams on complex matters that often span jurisdictions, industries, and practice areas. His broad background allows him to look at an issue from multiple perspectives: how government will view it, how a business will evaluate it, how stakeholders may respond, and what will ultimately be required to get something done.
Before founding LNE Group, Lee was appointed to serve as a Cuyahoga County Commissioner at age 28, making him one of the youngest people ever to hold the role. During his tenure, he helped oversee a county government with more than 9,000 employees and an annual budget exceeding $1 billion. His work included helping address a significant projected budget deficit, advancing welfare reform initiatives, and participating in efforts surrounding the return of the Browns to Cleveland.
After leaving public office, Lee moved into the private sector, holding senior executive and legal roles with regional and international technology companies, including Computer Associates International and REALOGIC.
A serial entrepreneur, Lee has also led a Cleveland-based biotechnology startup working to introduce a foreign biologic into the U.S. market. More recently, he acquired London-based Catsnake: The Story Agency, a creative firm specializing in campaigns for charities and mission-driven organizations. Across these ventures, Lee has continued to work at the intersection of business strategy, market entry, communications, and public impact.
That combination of public and private experience continues to shape Lee's approach today. He is often most impactful when a client's challenge cannot be viewed through a single lens, when government, business, politics, capital, community interests, and long-term strategy all need to be considered at once.
Lee earned his Juris Doctor, with honors, from The George Washington University National Law Center and his B.A., cum laude, in Economics and Management from DePauw University. Outside the office, he enjoys history podcasts and spending time with his wife, Caroline, and their three children, Lizzie, Ned, and Ethan, whose initials inspired the name LNE Group.
